Broadband Providers allow you to connect to the internet through a modem (dongle), who are the Broadband Providers, how to check Broadband Providers coverage, monthly or PAYG Broadband Providers?
Until recently, ‘mobile broadband’ meant surfing the internet using your mobile phone, but mobile broadband has evolved, and today mobile broadband uses small USB internet modems that you plug into your computer or laptop – often called mobile broadband dongles. Mobile broadband uses the same technology that offers fast internet on your mobile phone, and it can give you access to the internet on your laptop or PC wherever there’s a 3G mobile signal.
Mobile phone service providers O2, Orange, 3, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile offer mobile broadband services. Prices for mobile broadband start from around £10 per month, or less for a pay as you go mobile broadband deal that's valid for a month.
To see where mobile broadband is available, check the websites of 3, O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Vodafone for their 3G mobile coverage maps or 3G postcode checkers.
There are two main types of mobile broadband tariff – pay monthly and pay as you go (PAYG). Pay as you go mobile broadband is better if you are only likely to use mobile broadband occasionally, there is a monthly cap on the amount of usage you can have. If you are likely to use mobile broadband on a regular basis, such as during a daily commute to work, and want to keep costs down, you might prefer a monthly mobile broadband contract which you can get from your Broadband provider.
